What happens if I don't return my loans on time?
Penalties apply if you return loans overdue.
Demerit points accrue for overdue loans. At 10 points your borrowing privileges will be suspended.

NB: You will receive a recall notification to return the item if someone places a request on one of your loaned items.
Examination results are withheld from students with overdue loans.
Standard loans more than 14 days overdue and high demand items more than 2 days overdue will be declared lost resulting in recovery costs and late fees being charged. High demand items include:
- Reserve collection
- 7 day loans
- Requested items
Recovery costs and late fees will be transferred to the student system after a period has elapsed. After transfer the fees will no longer appear when you log in to "My Library Card" - please liaise directly with Student Accounts for payment.
