Question:

How can I access Audiobooks?

Unfortunately, the Bond Library does not subscribe to audiobooks as part of its current collection.

You can access audiobooks by creating a membership with the state library or your local public library service:

Text-to-speech (TTS)

Did you know you can often convert text to audio?

TTS is a type of assistive technology that reads digital text aloud. It is sometimes called “read aloud” technology. Some devices come with TTS built-in, while you can also install TTS software.

Mac computers:

Every Mac computer comes with a built-in TTS (text to speech), which you can use to read out text and eBooks on your screen.

Simply select the text > Right-click > More > Start Speaking. More options are available in System Preferences>Accessibility>Speech.

Windows computers:

Programs such as Adobe Reader have features such as ‘Read Out Loud’, a Text-to-Speech (TTS) tool. It reads text contained within a document window.

Web browser often include read aloud functionality too.
