OpenAthens Implementation
Summary
The Library is transitioning to a new mechanism for authentication to online library resources.
OpenAthens is an authentication tool that provides secure and flexible access to licensed online resources via single sign-on (SSO) technology. It is replacing our previous system, EZProxy.
It enables access to Library subscriptions directly from most large publisher websites as well as via links from the Library website, Library Search and your Resource Lists.
Launched: 20 August 2024
The majority of library resources are now using OpenAthens.
Ezproxy expiry: October 2024
This may be renewed for a short period (3 months) after a risk assessment on scale and impact of potential broken links.
